Double Girder Crane

The structural and earthquake engineering laboratory has one overhead travelling crane, commonly called bridge crane, which is capable of serving the entire laboratory floor. There are two independent hooks on the bridge crane which are capable of carrying 15 and 2 tons. 2-ton electric wire rope hoist was added to the lab in 2011 to expand the manoeuvrability of the crane. All electric motors, wires and control panel was renewed and also the system was equipped with remote control in 2013. In 2019, the mechanical parts, mostly gears, were renewed.
